Emil Kramer confirmed his liking of the Smallmead dustbowl with a convincing win in heat 1, but Paul Cooper was all at sea in the slick conditions after leading for nearly a lap. Kyle battled past Chris Johnson to pick up second in his first ride since breaking his foot, but Ben's gating prowess seems to have deserted him and he trailed home last in heat 2. Kyle was out again in heat 3 and was struggling to hang on allowing Zdenek Simota to get past him, but Ricky was trailed off hopelessly at the back. Matej Zagar recovered from a sluggish start passing André on the third lap in heat 4, and Emil trapped to win heat 5 with Paul retiring from fourth place.

Zdenek Simota hit the tapes and was excluded from heat 6. Andrew Appleton won the restart with Mathieu just failing to catch Ben Wilson on the finish line. Ricky fell lying 3rd in heat 7, and Kyle was out again in heat 8 having a tremendous scrap with Mathieu and possibly losing out on his stamina. André took maximum tactical points from heat 9 but Ben was passed by Zdenek on the last turn of the first lap, and the home pair had an easy win ahead of Ricky and Kyle in heat 10.

Emil was on a tactical in heat 11 but suffered engine trouble on the way to the line and ran out of time. The Racers claimed another big win in heat 12 ahead of Kyle and the dismal Ricky, but the bonus point suddenly looked closer following Emil and André's win in heat 13, with André resisting every move that Matej tried to get past. Ricky was not given the rider replacement ride in heat 14 which was led for nearly three laps by Kyle until Richard Wolff made his move. In a blistering last lap Mathieu passed both Ben and then Kyle on the last corner to leave the Racers requiring another 5-1 to set up a run-off for the bonus point. It was the Tigers who leapt to the front, although Matej did snatch second with a lurid inside move which nearly left André in the fence.

A great choice of guest, a good show by André, and a spirited return from injury for Kyle. Ben seems to have lost form just as he's about to be promoted into the body of the team, Paul was struggling with a hurt hand and yet more mechanical gremlins, and the less said about Ricky the better. Has he ever had a good meeting at Reading?
