Programme cover... The Tigers powered their way to a sixteen point lead in the first leg, but at a high cost as they lost Josh Grajczonek who aggravated the injury sustained at Ashfield in the semi-final. Ipswich fans were less than happy to discover that Scot Nicholls had accepted our guest booking which racked the tension up a couple of notches higher.

Heat 1 and Scott is given a hostile reception after he and Nathan Grieves tangle on the back straight with the youngster taking a heavy tumble. In the rerun Todd Kurtz makes another great start but Danny King passes him as they complete the first lap. Georgie Woods off gate 4 doesn't even make the third turn but Jan Graversen survives a couple of hairy laps to hold off Nathan's challenges. Lasse is pulled back for making too good a start to heat 3, but just does the same again in the restart. Cameron Heaps rounds him out of turn four and then Kyle Newman passes Josh Bates on the second turn of the third lap for a Witches 4-2. Kyle Howarth is untroubled ahead of Rory Schlein but Georgie retires again in heat 4. Kyle Newman and Cameron Heaps take glorious 5-1 in heat 5 ahead of Scott and Todd and the Witches now lead by 6 on the night, but trail by 10 on aggregate.

Kyle Howarth gets the drop to lead heat 6 from home skipper Danny but Nathan holds off a couple of stern challenges from Jan for another shared heat. Rory traps ahead and wins heat 7 comfortably from Josh and Lasse. Kyle Newman leads the way in heat 8 with Jan and Todd nearly clashing on the second bend. Nathan passes Todd for third place and Jan is pushing Kyle when the leader locks up on the apex of the first and second bends. Mayhem ensues with Jan clipping Kyle and Nathan somersaulting over the prostrate riders and bikes. Thankfully Todd manages to lay down without further contact and the race is awarded as a 2-4 with all four riders able to walk away. Kyle Howarth rounds his namesake on the second turn to lead heat 9 but Cameron Heaps has other ideas and cuts back to pass him on the inside of turn two on the last lap. Alfie Bowtell falls on the first turn of heat 10 and Lasse has to take avoiding action but at the front Danny has no answer to wide riding Josh B and the Tigers trim the Witches lead back to just 4 points and lead by 12 on aggregate.

Scott is awarded the win in heat 11 from Rory and Todd when Nathan fell at the back of the field on the third lap. Cameron Heaps takes the flag to win heat 12 from Lasse but Jan harries and eventually passes Nathan on the run to the finish line for the deciding point which makes the Tigers the 2017 CHAMPIONS!!! Danny is warned for making a perfect start to heat 13 and the Sheffield pair both pass him exiting turn 2 in the rerun. Scott waits for Kyle to take the lead, but Kyle elects to run the inside line and both Scott and Danny pass him in the closing laps. Proceedings are interrupted as the riders dismantle the fence to celebrate with the travelling fans on the back straight. Josh wins heat 14 from Kyle Newman and sets up a last heat decider. Scott passes Cameron out of turn 2 to lead heat 15 and Josh gets the better of Danny to make the Tigers not only the CHAMPIONS but also winners on the night!
