Sean was caught napping at the start of heat one allowing Thorpy a flying start and he went on to win in the fastest time of the season. Sean closed right in but was never in a position to attempt a pass, and then broke down after the finish and had to walk back to the pits. Trevor Harding made a dream debut with a tapes to flag win in heat 2 with Paul Cooper slotted in behind him. Simone Terenzani was well off the pace. Ricky and Richard easily dispatched the Hull pair in heat three, and André attempted to team ride with Trevor in heat 4 but Garry Stead split them on the second bend of the third lap. Ricky trapped well to win heat 5 ahead of Paul and Emiliano but Richard just couldn't find a way past despite using every inch of the track.

Sean and Ben led down the back straight in heat 6 but Garry Stead capitalised on a wobble by Ben on the second lap to move up into second place. Sean again broke down after the finish but was taken on a victory lap riding pillion with Garry Stead. André trapped to win heat 7 but Paul was taken very wide on the first bend by Emil Kramer. He wasted little time in powering past the pedestrian Joel Parsons out of the pits turn but Emil was long gone. Emiliano was on a tactical in heat 8 but missed the start badly. Ben won comfortably while Trevor Harding had to work to keep Craig Branney at bay until the dying stages when Craig was obliged to slow to let his partner claim the extra point. Ricky made another blistering start to win heat 9. Richard passed Garry Stead out of turn two, but Garry reclaimed second place with the inside line on the next lap and then put Ricky under pressure at the front. Sean claimed heat 10 with partner Ben passing Emil out of the second turn for another maximum heat win.

Dave Peet nominated Thorpy for double points in heat 11, and while André took the win in the fastest time of the season, Paul Cooper earned the cheers of the home fans by resisting every attempt Thorpy made to get past. Richard nailed the start of heat 12 and Trevor Harding found the strength to haul himself past Simone Terenzani at the end of the first lap. André blasted around Thorpy to lead heat 13 with Sean's close attentions paying dividends when Thorpy made a mistake on the first bend on the last lap. Ricky returned to the pits with the time allowance ticking away before the start of heat 14 and jumped on Richard Hall's bike with seconds to spare, but alas he retired before covering half a lap while Paul Cooper rode another tidy race to extend his lead over Emil Kramer. Sean and André trapped in heat 15 and it looked as though Sean had it sewn up until André made a fence blistering swoop around the last bends to pinch the win and his full maximum, on the line.

Paul was my man-of-the-match, although honorable mentions would also have to go to Ricky for three convincing wins, André for his clean sweep and Trevor Harding for a very impressive home debut.
