Ben Wilson ahead of Paul Thorp Both teams used rider replacement for the injury victims from the first leg. Richard Hall has had stitches in a finger wound and Craig Branney was battered and bruised. It took a while for the Vikings to dial in to the well watered track and their only heat winners were Emil Kramer and Paul Thorp.

Paul Cooper on turn 3 Sean trapped to win heat 1 and Ben Wilson was holding second ahead of Paul Thorp until he overcooked it on the second bend on lap 3. Kyle and Paul took a 5-1 in heat 2 with Simone Terenzani retiring from 4th place nursing an arm injury also sustained at Craven Park the day before. Ben made amends by following Ricky home ahead of Emil in heat 3, and André and Kyle outpaced Robbie in heat 4, with Kyle luckily finishing despite a punctured rear tyre. Dave Peet resorted to tactics as early as heat 5 with Paul Thorp claiming a six point win ahead of Ricky and Paul after a copybook start.

Robbie Kessler leads Ben Wilson Sean took another win in heat 6 but Robbie Kessler powered around Ben exiting the second bend on lap 2. André led heat 7 until he was forced out with a puncture on the third lap leaving Emil Kramer to claim his first win having passed Paul Cooper on the third turn on lap 1. As expected Paul Thorp breezed his way to the chequered flag in heat 8 setting another fastest time of the night. Ricky rounded Robbie Kessler on the second bend to win heat 9 with Robbie on double points, and the Vikings claimed another heat advantage in heat 10 due this time to Sean retiring with mechanical problems.

The all action style of Ricky Ashworth André won heat 11 a full second faster than anyone had gone previously. Paul Thorp moved from last to second with a clinical white line hugging turn 3 on the first lap. He must have some grunt in that motor, while Paul Cooper admitted he still hadn't found the right gearing for his. Danny Norton was a non-starter in heat 12 and Simone had withdrawn under doctors orders leaving just three riders. Ricky took a comfortable win while Emil Kramer moved into second with a delicious switch-back to pass Kyle on the inside exiting the pits turn on the first lap. André made up yards down the back straight in heat 13 going from 3rd to first with Sean out pacing Robbie for another maximum win. Emiliano Sanchez was pitched in as a tactical substitution in heat 14, more as a way of getting four starters than anything else. Ricky missed the gate this time and spectated while Paul's gear change allowed him to pass Emil Kramer with a sweet inside line on the fourth bend. Emil though was quick to respond and held Paul off to the flag. The big guns were out for heat 15 and Sean was first to show with André dicing with Emil for second place in the early stages. Paul Thorp having been out gated pottered around at the back for a couple of laps, parked on the home straight until the race was finished and then rode back to the pits to hoots of derision from the crowd. André earned a quite different reception with his fence scraping last turn which saw him steal the win from his skipper right on the line.

The Vikings top three received barely any support from the rest of their patched-up and walking wounded side. Perhaps if they cleared some of their debts they might get their No.1 back in the saddle? Oh, and thanks to the morons who cheered when Ben Wilson fell in heat 1!
