Top scorer.. programme The South Yorkshire Tigers were sitting on a healthy 28 point lead from the first leg and merely had to keep the scores close to reach the final. After a 25 minute delay waiting for the ambulance to arrive Josh Grajczonek got squeezed out on the first turn of heat 1. He dived past Mason Campton on the third bend of the second lap, with Mason losing control and falling yards later. James Sarjeant led heat 2 with Jan Graversen close on his heels. Alfie dived under Jan into turn three and skittled Jan off earning himself a disqualification. Georgie and Jan trapped ahead in the restart and James fell on the first bend when he clipped Jan's rear wheel. Jim McGregor excluded him and the Tigers reserves raced to a comfortable 5-0! Josh Bates trailed the field in heat 3 but suffered a 180 spin entering bend three and fell heavily requiring a hospital check-up. Kyle Howarth outpaced Aaron Summers to win heat 4 with Georgie ahead of Alfie to extend our lead. Josh trapped ahead in heat 5 but became yet another victim of the third bend taking a high speed tumble into the fence. James and Richie's 5-1 in the rerun put the home team ahead for the first time.

Kyle won heat 6 with Jan nearly getting the better of Richard Lawson and putting the visitors ahead once more. Alfie Bowtell trapped ahead in heat 7 but was passed by Aaron on the last bend lap 2, and then by Lasse Bjerre on the last bend of lap 3. The home pair made a cracking start to lead heat 8. Jan chased hard and passed Mason at the end of the third lap. James taped and was disqualified from heat 9. Richie tapped to win the rerun with Kyle content with second. Alfie trailed last and made a lurid attempt to pass Jan on the first bend which didn't end well. Lasse trapped and was untroubled winning heat 10 and the home team lead by three points on the night but trail the visitors by twenty five on aggregate.

Lasse holds a comfortable lead in heat 9 but by now everyone is riding out by the fence. Lasse makes a slight error on the third lap, falls, and the fence spits him back onto the track. Alfie saw him fall and laid his bike down but it ploughed full into the prostrate Lasse who needed medical attention to an arm injury.

With the delay for the ambulance and now for the third injury it was already past the curfew. Sheffield held a 25 point lead so the match was beyond Glasgow's reach and Jim McGregor abandoned the meeting with Sheffield in the final.

No problems then. 48 hours to the final first leg and three injured riders!
