The track was watered 10 mins before the start and it proved to be tricky in the extreme in the opening heats, and indeed the quality of racng was compromised throughout. David Speight fell twice in heat 1, the second time just as he was about to be lapped by race leader James Wright. The Prowlers pair were left at the tapes in heat 2 (not surprising as the green light wasn't working!) and Karl Langley only finished the race after replacing his cut-out which had come adrift. (It proved to be his only point!) Wayne Carter trapped in heat 3, but Luke Priest made a sweet first turn to take the lead. Wayne passed Paul Burnett on the inside of the third turn on lap 2, and then, instead of following his partner home for a maximum heat win, passed Luke on the inside at the end of lap 3 which caused Luke to get all crossed up on the 1st turn and then fall! Ben passed Carl Bellfield after a piss poor gate in heat 4, but then the action was non existant for quite some time. Even Conference League champion James Wright couldn't find his way past quick starting Ben Wilson in heat 6.

Ben took a tactical in heat 11 from a 15m handicap, passing David on the first lap, and then Carl Belfield on the outside of turn 2, but JB was long gone by then. Karl taped in heat 12, but the 15m handicap made no difference to the final result, and James Wright's inside pass off the final turn in heat 13 saw Wayne Carter arse over tit down the home straight which gained James an exclusion. I thought it a simple racing accident but it didn't stop Wayne trying to make an issue of it but thankfully the scrap was soon snubed out. Luke won heat 14 as a tactical simply by sticking to the white line, and Wayne looked like repeating the lesson in heat 15 until his attention lapsed on the final turn letting James Wright through.

Worst meeting I've experienced at the High Edge raceway and I must admit I'm looking forward to seeing some action at Scunthorpe.
