Rider of the night... Wow! When Brady Kurtz was announced as Josh Grajczonek's replacement it became obvious that he would be a top scorer, but if you'd told me he would go unbeaten and still score less than his big brother I would have laughed in your face. OK, the visitors were one of the weakest teams in the league with only "I am now a star rider" Dmitri Berge having any Owlerton pedigree, but he didn't have Simon pushing him around tonight. Dany Gappmaier trapped ahead in heat 8 and looked good, but was opaque in his other 5 rides.

Great start from Jack. I told him before the meeting that I'd seen many riders come through the ranks and become my favourites. I guess he didn't know a lot of the names I threw at him; John Dews, Bob Paulson, Arnold Haley, Reg Wilson, Doug Wyer, Bob Valentine, Neil Collins, Shawn Moran, Sean Wilson, Simon Stead. No pressure there then Jack!

The score line didn't reflect the track action. Jack passed Ryan Blacklock on the first lap of heat 2 and Dany Gappmaier on lap three. Todd and Lasse both passed Dmitri Berge at the start of heat 3 but Dmitri fought back into second place. Lasse passed Liam Carr in heat 5 but couldn't catch Lewis Bridger. Brady Kurtz showed what a skilled rider he is with a breath taking double overtake on the third bend of heat 6. Kyle chased hard but Claus Vissing just held on to win heat 7 with Dmitri on a tactical in third.

Liam broke the tapes and was handicapped in heat 8, but he caught and passed Jack on the third lap. Lasse got an outrageous flyer and his first home win of the season in heat 9. Kevin Doolan wasn't impressed. Josh passed Dmitri on the third bend of heat 10 and held him off to finish second. Kyle dived under Lewis into the third bend to win heat 11 but Jack was well off the pace and retired at the back of heat 12 while Lasse claimed his second win. Brady and Kyle were untroubled winning heat 13. Claus started well in heat 14 but Todd made a beautiful inside pass. It was Todd again winning heat 15 from gate two but try as he might Kyle couldn't find the way through to join him.

Workington on Saturday could be interesting if we can maintain this form...
