Ricky Ashworth wins heat 1 in the fastest time recorded by a visiting rider so far this season. Chris Mills traps to lead heat 2 and Josh Auty passes the home pair for a Tigers 5-1. Ritchie Hawkins leads heat 3 from Charles Wright, Joel Parsons and Adrian Rymel. Both Joel and Adrian pass Charles and the Tigers are set for another 5-1 until Joel takes a tumble on the third lap. Adrian traps in the rerun. In heat 4 Richard Hall passes Richard Lawson at the start of lap 3 but Chris Mills is too far adrift. Ricky win heat 5 ahead of Adrian but Paul takes third place to put the Tigers ahead by two points.
John Branney gates to win heat 6 and Kevin passes Richard to put the Comets into the lead for the first time. André Compton wins heat 7 from Ritchie while Joel had to pass Craig to share the heat. John makes another good start and the Workington pair lead heat 8. Paul falls trying to pass his team mate. Adrian wins heat 9 but Richard has the Sheffield pair climbing all over him. Josh goes from last to second in a brilliant last lap manoeuvre. Kevin and Ritchie fall on the first turn of heat 10. John traps again in the rerun and Kevin rounds him on the first lap for another 5-1 leaving the Comets twelve points ahead.
Ricky is on a tactical in heat 11 and takes full advantage of the double points. Richard Lawson traps to win heat 12 but Josh Auty passes Adrian on the third lap to prevent another 5-1. André wins heat 13 but the 5-1 is avoided as Richard Hall stays ahead of Kevin. Richard Lawson traps ahead to win heat 14 from Charles who is delighted to have kept Josh Auty back in third place. André and Ricky are the first to show in heat 15 but Adrian passes Ricky down the back straight and the Comets finish the meeting nineteen points ahead.
Three race wins for Ricky, and one for Chris. The remaining five members of our strength in depth team managed just seven second placings between them.
