© Class Trend Ltd. Ben set the pace in heat 1 with Ricky riding shotgun, although he almost regretted his wider line on the last two turns as James Wright nearly caught him on the finish line. There must be something strange about the track tonight as Benji was caught out on the fourth turn on the second lap of heat 2 and fell while trailing the field. Emiliano and Kyle took a comfortable maximum in heat 3, but Garry Stead and Aidan Collins easily outpaced Benji to share heat 4. James Wright and Paul Thorp caught the Tigers napping at the start of heat 5 (pictured below right) to bite back with a 1-5 leaving the Tigers four points ahead.

Paul Thorp & James Wright outgate Kyle and Emiliano Ben lead heat 6 with Ricky climbing all over Garry Stead for a few laps. Garry eventually shook Ricky off and then blasted around Ben into the third turn on the third lap. André breezed heat 7, but Cooperman grafted hard after a poor start and was within millimeters of catching Aidan on the line. Ben 'put himself about a bit' (is that the polite way to put it?) on the first turn to lead heat 8, but Thorpy passed Benji on the first lap, Aidan on the second, and nearly Ben on the third before he 'bottled it!' Kyle made a beautiful inside pass on Garry Stead to lead heat 9. Emiliano was challenging hard when Garry lost control on the first bend on the third lap but he showed lightning reflexes to avoid a much more serious accident. Ben led heat 10 with Ricky working hard to recover from Tomasz Piszcz taking him into 'no-mans land' on the second turn. Tomasz went VERY hard under Ben on the pits turn on the second lap, and when Ricky had the audacity to try an outside pass on turn two on the last lap he was lucky to stay on two wheels. It might have been cheaper to have fallen because he ended up being fined £250 by Mr. Dowling for picking a scrap with the ignoramus on the back straight.

André was untroubled on his way to victory in heat 11, but Thorpy had plenty of pace with which to pass Cooperman on the third turn. James ahead of him was on a 'sick joke' tactical ride so was sacrosanct. Emiliano breezed heat 12 leaving us 10 points ahead into heat 13. Disaster for Ricky whose bike expired! The 'mad Pole' was their tactical rider replacement in heat 14, and won from the tapes. It was Ben and André in heat 15, and they made no mistake on their way to a 5-1 leaving the Tigers 11 points ahead.

Benji struggled on his track return but was using one of his brother's old engines as his own has been sent to Germany to be properly tuned. By next week he should be on decent equipment and he can start to rebuild his confidence. Paul switched bikes for his last two rides and looked better for it. Ricky will want to forget this meeting, Kyle only had one poor race and Emiliano turned in one of his better Owlerton displays. André was untouchable and set the fastest time of the season but the 'Man of the match' award went without a moments hesitation to Ben Wilson.
