The home riders only managed to win 4 heats, 3 of them by Bob Andrews, while for the Tigers only Alan Jay and David Crane didn't win at least one race. Jack Kitchen's machine failure in the penultimate heat gave the home team a slender lead and although youngster John Dews took his second win in the last heat, Billy Bales who'd won his previous two rides took a tumble to gift the Wolves the league points.
