The Tigers were defending an eight point lead from the first leg at Somerton Park. A good all-round team effort saw them
comfortable victors and through to a semi-final clash with the Poole Pirates. All the Tigers recorded at least one heat win
with the exception of Rod Haynes, while for the Wasps only Phil Crump managed a heat win, although he had the honour of
taking Bob Valentines track record in heat 4 with the first sub 66 second time. Exeter and Ipswich were the other semi-finalists.
