With thunder clouds scheduled to arrive before 10pm the usual parade was dispensed with and we got straight down to the action. Chris Mills and Ricky Ashworth got the drop in heat 1 but Jason Bunyan dived past Ricky out of turn two. Jason tried every which way to get past but Chris blocked every attempt and was trying so hard he actually fell on the second turn after the race had finished. Hugh Skidmore rounded Craig Branney out of turn two to lead heat 2 and Paul Cooper tried inside and out for four laps but just couldn't find his way past. Klaus Jakobsen and Lee Complin got an absolute flier of a start to lead heat 3 while Joel Parsons and Richard Hall kept tripping over one another and never looked like catching them. Robert Kseizak took a flier in heat 4 but Hugh dived into the lead exiting turn two. Josh Auty tried every line bar the dog track and so nearly caught Robert with a wide last bend blast. Joel and Richard lead from the tapes in heat 5. Richard swoops around Joel at the end of the first lap and Jason passes Jesper Kristiansen at the start of the second lap. Jason quickly closes in on Joel and dives through into second place on the third lap. The Tigers lead by four points.

Ricky traps to win heat 6 from Robert, Chris and Craig. Lee and Klaus take Paul out to the fence at the start of heat 7 while Josh hugs the white line and takes the lead. Paul passed Klaus into third and dives under Lee on the third turn, but loses out on the pits bend. Lee is looking good for second place when his engine cuts out on the third lap. Hugh leads heat 8 from Jesper with Chris chasing Tom P. Madsen for third place. Chris takes a wide line into turn three and cuts back to pass Tom on the inside of the pits turn on the third lap. Robert traps ahead to win heat 9 with Richard and Joel too busy racing each other to do anything about him. Lee Complin is on a tactical in heat 10. Ricky blasts around the outside but suddenly finds Lee has slammed the door in his face and he has to shut off to avoid a collision. Tigers now lead by nine points.

Josh makes the gate to lead heat 11 from Jason while Paul dives past Jesper at the start of the second lap to extend the Tigers lead. Joel and Hugh make the start and take an untroubled 5-1 in heat 12. We can't understand why it is Robert and not Jason wearing black & white in heat 13, and sure enough Jason takes a big win ahead of hard charging Josh with Ricky untroubled in third place. Richard speeds off to lead heat 14 leaving Paul in second but never troubled by Lee. Hugh (unbeaten so far) and Josh are nominated for the Tigers in heat 15 while Jason and Lee are the obvious choice for the Potters. Jason is first to show while Hugh gets mugged on the first turn. Josh tries every move in the book to get past but Lee slams the door in his face every time, turns right going down the straights and just holds off an enormous last bend effort. Lee seemed to take offence at Josh's tactics, kicked out at him on the run-down lap and then promptly fell off! Josh had to be restrained by the track staff but was probably about to piss himself with laughter.

Lee Complin was certainly putting himself about on the track, turning right on people, cutting them up and drifting people right to the fence and Ricky, Paul and Josh all had incidents trying to pass him. Passing was at a premium and the track could have used more water. The rain arrived half way through the second half events so the management got something right at last!
