On a greasy track the Tigers took advantage of the Eazy Rider Potters finding conditions anything but easy. Ben Barker, Emiliano Sanchez and Barrie Evans took two falls each and Buzz looped at the start in heat 4. André and Paul gratefully accepted a 5-0 in heat 7 after both Barrie and Emiliano failed to finish, and Ricky and Joel repeated the dose against the same pair in heat 11. John Adams nearly got his team back into contention with an 8-1 from Lee Complin and Buzz Burrows in heat 14 which left the Potters requiring a maximum from the last race to steal victory. Ben Barker passed Joel at the end of the first lap but was collected by the air fence as he tried to squeeze past André on turn two earning himself an exclusion and awarding the away win to the Tigers.
