The supporters were the winners in this hastily arranged Sunday Sport Trophy meeting which provided some entertaining racing. Lee Complin passed Ricky on the second turn to follow his team mate home for a maximum in heat 1. Glenn Cunningham resisted every move by André Compton to win heat 3, and Lee and Ben Barker's 5-1 in heat 6 put the Potters 10 points ahead. Claus Vissing fell in heat 7 causing a restart, which was won by the Tigers skipper. André was out as a tactical substitute in heat 9 (no silly golden points tonight) but was again outpaced by Glenn. Ricky and Ben staged a fightback in heat 11 with Claus Vissing falling again back in third place. André and Glenn had another great race in heat 12 with the home rider making it a hat-trick of wins. Ben Wilson came in as a tactical substitute for Joel in heat 13 and featured in the race of the night as he, Ricky and Lee Complin were climbing all over each other culminating in the proverbial 'blanket finish'. Ricky sped into the lead in heat 15 leaving André to stave off the attentions of both Glenn and the unbeaten Ben Barker, with Glenn once again getting the better of the Tiger's skipper.

The Tigers sorely missed the in-form Paul Cooper who was riding in the European Grass Track final, but will be confident of the aggregate win in the second leg at Owlerton on the 27th of this month.
