Hugh Skidmore gated and Ricky tucked in behind him down the back straight. Ricky passed Hugh out of turn four but looked back and team rode. Ricky switched to the inside at the end of lap 2 and Hugh looked uncomfortable straight away. Steve Johnston passed him on the inside of the pits turn lap three, and Nick Simmons likewise on turn two of the last lap. Paul Cooper gated ancd Chris Mills followed him home with little or no opposition from Tom Brown. Justin Sedgmen retired from last place after a wild incident on the third lap. Joel Parsons nudged the tapes as they rose earning him a 15m handicap in heat 3. Emil Krames trapped ahead with Simon Walker and Richard Hall disputing second place, but the home favourite soon pulled clear. Paul Cooper is Josh Auty's rider replacement in heat 4 but Cory Gathercole rounds the field to lead out of turn two. Paul battles back past Justin Sedgmen on the second lap but is all over the track as he gives it all he's got. Justin spits the dummy on the last lap, again. Hugh Skidmore and Simon Walker are neck and neck in the lead down the back straight in heat 5. Hugh sticks to his line in mid track and Ricky accepts the wide open space on the iside of the pits turn to move into second place. Simon tries every line you can imagine but it merely allows Emil up into third place. Tigers lead by four points.

Johno wins heat 6 with ease from r/r Richard who only seems interested in the outside line. Richard challenges Cory all the way to the line in heat 7 and could have passed him if not for going tooo wide at the end of lap 3. Chris Mills leads heat 8 and Hugh Skidmore blasts around the field to lead down the back straight. Chris is mugged by the Rebels on the second turn and eventually falls on the last lap. The Rebels gate ahead in heat 9 and bring the scores level. Joel Parsons leads away in heat 10 with Richard Hall on his exhaust. Johno goes second on the third bend and Nick Simmons also passes Richard on the second lap but Richard's persistence with the outside line pays off as he regains third place off the pits turn. Tigers hold a slender two point lead.

Ricky and Hugh show first in heat 11 but Tom passes Hugh out of the pits turn and Cory follows suit on the second turn of lap 2. Simon wins heat 12 but Justin is left trailing for another shared heat. Johno leads heat 13 with Cory and Ricky neck and neck for second place until the Aussie pulls clear, and then Johno drops a chain on the last bend but coasts over then line in second place to put Somerset ahead for the first time on the night. Richard traps ahead in heat 14 but gets unexpected grip and wheelies across the track causing mayhem in his wake. Richard leaves by ambulance with broken bones in his foot. Chris has a terrific scrap with Tom Brown before making the inside pass on the third lap. The last heat decider was decided from the gate with the Rebels racing to a comfortable maximum heat win.
