After a good nights racing at Owlerton the day before the Scorpions were out for revenge. Todd and Kyle
battled to the front for a maximum win in heat 1 but Josh Auty and Jake Allen left Charles in their wake to
redress the balance in heat 3. Jason Garrity won heat 4 from Lasse, Kyle tumbled off into the fence in heat 5
although he recovered to take a tac-sub win in heat 6. Charles looked much sharper winning heat 7 from Jason
and James rode a brilliant race to win heat 8 as the Tigers closed to within two points of the Scorpions. Lasse had no answer to Josh and Jake who took their third 5-1 in heat 9. After a poor start Charles battled past Todd on the first lap of heat 10, then caught and passed Stefan Nielsen at the end of lap 3 but the Scorpions extend their lead. Heat 11 is one of those races you had to see to believe. Jason and Kyle passed and re-passed, inside and out, all bends with Kyle just winning the sprint to the chequered flag. Where were the tv cameras? Josh Auty passed Charles on the second lap of heat 12 and just held off everything that Charles threw at him. Heat 13 was another that defies description, but I don't need to as it is on YouTube! Two good battles in heat 14 with Jake getting the better of Charles and Gino likewise over James. The Tigers wanted a 5-1 in heat 15 to snatch a bonus point. Jake nudged the tapes and I don't understand why he wasn't penalized, but he trailed home last. Charles just held off Josh at the finish to spoil his maximum, but Kyle couldn't join him and the bonus went begging.
Lasse seems to be struggling to get his motors going, and we are seriously missing Josh Bates with his replacement rides accumulating just 3 points. Not the result the Tigers wanted but what an excellent night of racing. Speedway and the healthy crowd were the winners.
