The meeting started while it was raining even though the forecast wasn't favourable. It's never good business to turn away a big crowd on your opening night is it. Viktor Bergstrom trapped to lead heat 1. David Howe passed Ricky on the second bend to make it an opening 5-1. Coops trapped in heat 2 but Simon Lambert breezed past on the second turn to grab the lead. Arlo retired from last place on the second lap and then Jerran Hart rounded Paul on the pits turn, last lap. Magnus Karlsson trapped to lead heat 3 from Josh. Joel Parsons passed Richard on the third bend on the first lap, and repeated the dose to Josh on the second with Josh gaining an exclusion for falling on the last bend. Richard failed to beat the 'time to tapes' allowance in the rerun and after starting from a 15 metre handicap he packed in on the second lap. Scorpions 15, Kittens 2! Bring on the new pretender! Josef led heat 4 but both Scorpions passed him on the third turn as his engine expired. Joel was excluded from heat 5 under the time to tapes ruling. Hugh Skidmore passed Magnus on the second turn to take the lead and Ricky dived under Simon on the third turn to claw two points back.

Coops trapped to win heat 6 but the conditions are certainly not conducive to passing. Jerran led heat 7 with Josh and Richard battling each other for second place. Josh eased ahead on the third lap and chased after Jerran but to no avail. Viktor fell on the second bend of heat 8 on the outside of Coops. He made it to the third bend in the rerun before his bike succumbed to the gremlins. PK trapped to win heat 9 by almost half a lap with Josef unable to pass Joel leaving the Tigers 17 points adrift. Josh was given a tactical ride in heat 10 but David made an electric start. Richard slid off in the pouring rain on the third turn while Josh put David under pressure but couldn't prize him from the white line.

Ricky refused the opportunity of competing in heat 11 and his place was taken by Arlo. Hugh made a perfect start and "soaked up" all the pressure that Carl Wilkinson piled on him on his way to his second win of the evening. Paul was on for double points in heat 12 and sped from the tapes into the lead. Richard held off Joels first lap challenge and then rode a steady line to claim an 8-1. With the rain still pouring down Master Bates declared the meeting over denying the Tigers any chance of a match point. Even with Coops able to take three more rides that would have been a tall order so no complaints really, except that the meeting should never have started in the first place. Six points from nine outings by the Tigers heat-leaders is a worrying statistic. Paul and Hugh the only Tigers heat winners.

The biggest losers were the paying public who went to see racing...
