Magnus Karlsson trapped to lead heat 1 on a very greasy surface. Hugh Skidmore got filled in at the end of lap 3 and nearly stopped allowing Viktor Bergstrom through on the first turn, but he immediately hit back and dived back into third place on the third turn. Joel Parsons led heat 2 with Paul Cooper diving past Jerran Hart on the second turn to make it a 5-1. Simon Lambert passed Jerran on the second lap and quickly closed on Paul but couldn't find a way past. Carl Wilkinson fell on the first turn of heat 3 but quickly remounted while Richard Hall took a comfortable win ahead of Adam Allott. David Howe and Simon trapped ahead of Paul to lead heat 4. Josh Auty passed his partner at the end of the first lap but couldn't find his past Simon. Magnus led heat 5 from Richard and Chris but Richard took a wide line into turn 3 on the third lap, cut back to the inside and breezed past Magnus into the lead. The Tigers lead by four points.

David led heat 6 from Ricky with Jerran ahead of Hugh who never stopped trying. Carl took a flyer to lead heat 7 from Adam. Joel blasted around Adam at the end of the first lap and Josh followed his example on the next lap. Paul led heat 8 from Simon until Hugh's outside swoop took him past the pair of them. Simon dived past Paul on the second lap and the crowd enjoyed a classic scrap of a race between the pair which ended in the visitors favour. Richard trapped ahead in heat 9 and Chris joined him at the front by diving under David on the second turn. Carl trapped ahead to win heat 10 from Ricky and Hugh with Adam well off the pace at the rear of the field. The Tigers lead stands at eight points.

Joel passed Magnus on the second turn of heat 11, but Magnus barged under him on the pits turn. Joel fended off Simons attempts to maintain the leading margin. Simon won heat 12 from Chris and Adam after Paul's bike let go on the second lap. Ricky rounded Magnus and into the lead on the second turn of heat 13, while Josh dived past David on the same bend. David claimed third place back at the start of the second lap but Josh went wide and reclaimed the place on the back straight. The pair of them closed in on Magnus and it was a real nail-biter of a race all the way to the chequered flag. Richard blasted around Carl to lead heat 14 on the pits turn while Joel had his work cut out to just hold off Simon's challenges on the line. Richard claimed his first and well deserved maximum in heat 15 but all eyes were on Joel. He dived past Carl on the second turn but was caught and passed by Magnus on the pits turn at the end of the second lap. Not to be outdone Joel fought back with a superb inside pass on the first turn.

The fourteen point winning margin did not in any way reflect the quality and closeness of the racing. Take a look at this link for some great movies from Chris Mills' helmet camera.
