2010 Redcar programme Hugh Skidmore made a dream debut at the STMP storming from the gate to lead home Bears skipper Gary Havelock. Stuart Swales won heat 2 from Paul Cooper with Arlo Bugeja just edging third place ahead of hard pressing Jan Graversen. Ben Wilson and Maks Gregoric stormed away to win heat 3 with Richard tumbling off on the first corner. Paul fought his way past Jan on the second lap of heat 4 only to lose control and fall on the pits bend. Two races for one in heat 5 with Ben Wilson holding off Ricky Ashworth for the win while Hugh did likewise to Maks Gregoric for third place. Bears looking comfortable with an eight point lead.

Josef Franc was the early leader of heat 6 but Gary picked him off cleanly on the third bend. Emiliano Sanchez breezed his way to a win in heat 7 but Stuart kept making a pigs ear of the pits bend allowing Richard Hall and ex-Bear Josh Auty a share of the spoils. Eric Boocock gave the Tigers only race winner to date a tactical ride in heat 8 (I wonder whose idea that was?) but Hugh was out gated and trailed the field. Jan made a mistake on the pit bend and drifted his team mate Tomas Suchanek wide allowing Hugh into second place. Paul slowed off the final bend to allow Hugh through to take the maximum six points but at the same time kept Jan back in third place. Josef made a superb pass on the third bend to win heat 9 from Maks and Ben. Richard finished first for the first time this year in heat 10, but Josh trailed home last to leave the Tigers trailing by three points.

Mr. Breckon discluded Hugh for falling on the first bend in heat 11, but the skipper did the business in the rerun to share the heat. Ben and Jan led heat 12 but Jan tried too hard, went too wide and both Richard and Paul gratefully accepted his points. Josef and Ricky trapped and won heat 13 putting the Tigers one point ahead. Coops led heat 14 and Josh joined him for a 5-1 when Stuart found unexpected drive and fell whilst second. It's an all Sheffield final heat with Ben and Emiliano (Sheffield assets) pitched against Josef and Ricky. Josef makes no mistake to race to his third consecutive win but Ricky is consigned to last place and the fourth point goes begging.

A great away win for the Tigers with all the team except the ex-Redcar riders winning races. Great shows from Josef and Hugh, let's hope there is more of this to come...
