The meeting was just a few days ahead of the World Final in Gothenburg featuring Shawn Moran and the home pair of Simon Wigg and Hans Nielsen. Shawn was victorious over Simon and beat Hans twice in the match, but was bested by Simon in their second half heat with the main Dane winning the second half final.
I don't quite understand why Nigel Crabtree rode at no.2 as his average appeared to be well below that of Dave Morton, and Dave's 5-1's with Shawn in heats 6 and 9 were pivotal in securing the away win.
