Ricky Ashworth and Chris Mills lead the way in heat 1 with Chris doing well to hold off 'Owlerton specialist' Leigh Lanham for all four laps. Hugh Skidmore rounded everyone to lead heat 2 but Marek Mroz and Luke Priest tangled on the back straight. Luke did well to bale out but Marek wasn't so lucky and fell entering turn three with his bike cartwheeling into the air and landing on top of him. There was a lengthy delay while he was loaded into the ambulance and it was later confirmed that he had broken his leg. Luke trapped ahead in the rerun and Hugh dropped in behind him to ward off all the challenges from Chris Kerr. Joel Parsons led heat 3 from Richard Hall while Jonas Andersson took team mate Jordan Frampton out on the third turn. Richard scraped the fence to take the lead on the pits turn and Jordan battled his way into third on the second lap and very nearly caught Joel on the last lap. Hugh gated to lead heat 4 but Josh was left trailing. He dived past Paul Fry out of the pits turn and set about catching Chris Kerr whom he passed with a tremendous outside blast on the very last turn. Richard sped into the lead in heat 5 but Joel was slowly away but recovered to pass Leigh on the third turn on the first lap and then James Holder on the pits turn at the end of the second lap. Leigh passed his team mate on the last lap to steal the odd point. Five maximum heat wins leave the Tigers twenty points ahead!.

Ricky leads the way in heat 6 but it's three abreast behind him with Chris Kerr running out of camber by the tractor gate and baling out. Jim McGregor must have been feeding his guide dog at the time and disqualifies Chris Mills who is less than happy! Ricky leads the way in the rerun and Chris Kerr falls again trying too hard around the outside, this time on the fourth bend. Josh Auty is again last from the tapes in heat 7 but dives past Jordan on the second turn and then picks off Jonas on the pits turn to claim his first win of the night. Chris Kerr leads the way in heat 8 but Hugh dives past on the third turn. A split second later Chris Mills does the same to pass James but is carrying too much speed and falls on the fourth turn. Hugh then gets some unexpected drive at the end of the third lap and bounces off the fence on the home straight but is able to collect himself and maintain his lead, although I wouldn't want the job of cleaning his kevlars! Joel and Richard lead heat 9 with Richard once again passing his team mate on the first lap. Jordan wheelies into turn one in heat 10 and stuffs Ricky into the fence. Jordan is disqualified but Ricky's bike is a tangled wreck and has to be carried off the track. The two minute warning sounds very quickly and Ricky has to come out on Richard's bike but he easily passes Jonas on the first turn and looks comfortable on the borrowed machine. Tigers twenty eight points ahead and no tacticals have been used.

Sure enough Leigh Lanham is wearing the black & white in heat 11 but James collects the tapes and has to go back 15 metres. Leigh leads the way from the gate but Josh pulls off a sweet inside pass on the pits turn. James catches Luke and passes him exiting turn two on the last lap. Joel leads heat 12 but comes under pressure from Jonas while Hugh inherits third place when Chris Kerr falls on the pits turn (too wide again!). Joel pulls clear on the third lap and Jonas suddenly has his hands full to stay ahead of Hugh. Ricky destroys the tapes which were being held forever by Blind Jim in heat 13. Ricky goes off a 15 metre handicap and soon catches the field. He's about to pass when Paul Fry locks up on the third turn leaving Ricky with no option but to lay it down. Referee's verdict? Ricky disqualified! (I'd love to read our report on the referee!) Leigh leads the rerun but Josh rounds Paul on the second bend and Leigh half way down the back straight to collect his maiden paid maximum. Jordan is on a tactical ride in heat 14 and leads the way from the gate. Richard wears him down and then cuts back to pass him on the inside of the pits bend on the third lap. Chris and Luke have a splendid four lap battle for third place with the American getting the verdict. Richard Hall rounds everyone to lead heat 15 with Joel and Jordan keeping close company. Joel takes the inside line starting lap two and Jordan tumbles with the Aussie considered culpable. Richard passes the field exiting turn two to win the rerun and complete his full maximum.
