Given the recent thrashings the Tigers received on previous visits to bRough Park a six point lead
from the first leg didn't fill us with confidence, however as George English feared our three guests
combined to make it a close run thing.
Wins by Ashley Morris, Matej Kuss and Steve Worrall saw the Diamonds wipe out the deficit in the
first four heats, but to the surprise of many Ricky Wells, Kyle Howarth and Lewis Kerr, assisted by
Rob Branford and Arthur Sissis staged a fightback to establish an eight point aggregate lead for the Tigers.
Victor Palovaara switched bikes and suddenly looked like a match winner as the Diamonds clawed their
way back into contention and Ludwig Lindgren and Ashley Morris took a 5-1 in heat 14 to level the
aggregate scores and set up a last heat decider.
Kyle and Ricky trapped and if anything Steve and Ludwig impeded each other on the first bend to
leave the Tigers heading for the semi-finals! To paraphrase Eric Thornton in the Speedway Star it
left the Diamond fans 'stunned' and the travelling Tigers fans hardly able to believe the 'stunning'
performance they'd just witnessed!
