2007 Programme The Sheffield Window Centre Tigers make amends for their poor showing on Tyneside and motor their way to a 16 point aggregate victory. Ricky got his No.1 race jacket back and celebrated with a tapes to flag win in heat 1, but all eyes were on rider replacement James Cockle who just managed to hang on in second place ahead of hard pressing Carl Wilkinson. Back out again in heat 2 James was challenging quick starting Sean Stoddart for the lead when his bike expired on the third turn. Paul Cooper took evasive action and just managed to stay on board as he brushed the fence on the pits turn but lost a lot of ground in the process. Paul (mounted on Natalie again as his own engine, expensively rebuilt by Michael Lee, was haemorrhaging oil) gave chase and made up yards of ground on the last lap and missed out on the win by mere inches as Sean took the chequered flag. Great effort though! André and Ben led heat 3 until Josef Franc caught and passed Ben on the second turn of the third lap. No response from Ben. Joel and Paul early leaders in heat 4 with Sean unable to get into contention and Jonas Raun messing about half a lap behind. Perhaps if he remembered to turn his fuel on... André stormed away to lead heat 5 from Christian Henry and Ben picked up a point by passing Carl Wilkinson on the third lap. The Sheffield Window Centre Tigers lead by 10 points on the night, and 5 points on aggregate.

Jonas had his fuel turned on for heat 6, trapped ahead and not even Ricky could catch him! Josef Franc was wearing the black and white helmet colour in heat 7 and burst out of the gate and into the lead ahead of Joel. Ross Brady wasn't troubled by James and the Diamonds fought back to level pegging (on aggregate). Ben was the rider replacement in heat 8 which he won comfortably from Carl with Paul finishing third. André wasn't troubled winning heat 9 but Ben was passed by Jonas at the start of the second lap. Josef Franc tumbled off on the first bend in heat 10. From where I was standing it looked as if Ricky might have helped him on his way and that "all four back" would have been a fair decision, but Jim Lawrence disagreed. Ricky won the rerun with Ross holding off Paul's challenges all the way to the finish line. The Tigers lead by 6 points on aggregate.

Christian and Carl trap ahead to win heat 11 and the Tigers lead is reduced to just 2 points. André takes the win in heat 12 with Paul trying too hard to round Josef Franc and losing ground as a result. Ricky leads from the gate in heat 13 and is joined at the front by Joel who dives past Jonas on the third turn. Paul replaces James in heat 14 for his seventh ride of the night. Ben takes an early lead but Paul passes Sean on the third turn, and then Ross on the pits bend to follow him home for another 5-1. Ricky and André do the same to win heat 15 resulting in a score line which does not reflect the closeness of the match.

A good day at the office for the Sheffield Window Centre Tigers. Ricky dropped just one point, André another full maximum. Ben dropped points to the Diamonds heat leaders but looked comfortable when he gated ahead. Joel never stops trying and I'm sure he'll soon dial into the Owlerton circuit. James had yet more mechanical gremlins and must consider spending more time in the workshop. Paul's affair with Natalie (Garry Flint's GM engine) continues unabated. In the two matches against the Diamonds Paul took 14 rides and scored 18 (plus 7 bonus) points, against a combined score of 8 (plus 1 bonus) for the two Newcastle reserves. Paul looks set to move out of the reserve berth at the start of next month.
