King's Lynn programme The Tigers travelled expectantly given the Stars had lost both Tomas Topinka (broken leg) and Joe Haines (broken shoulder) in quick succession. The Stars wasted no time opening with three maximum heat wins as the Tigers struggled to find the right set-up. Hugh fell on the last lap of heat 3 with Richard Hall laying down to avoid him.Josef was taken out on the first turn in heat 4 and never recovered while Paul held on grimly to second place ahead of hard challenges from Casper Wortmann. The Stars led heat 5 until Kozza made a mess of the second turn allowing Ricky through to second place and Josh followed suit off the last turn. Tigers trail by fourteen points.

Linus Eklof led heat 6 but Josef passed Chris Schramm on the first lap for second place. Richard  passed Darren Mallett of the back straight of heat 7 and then fell on the third turn. Hugh was well off the pace in the rerun. Coops was on a tactical in heat 8 but was beaten from the gate by Linus. Josh passed Casper to go third but Casper repassed him at the end of the first lap. Josh was having none of that and battled back ionto third place on the second lap and the Tigers take their first heat advantage. Josef passed Kozza on the inside line to win heart 9 and Arlo held onto third despite a huge effort from Darren. Just as the Tigers seem to be getting back into the match Chris and Linus romp to an easy win ahead of Richard and Hugh. Tigers trail by twenty points.

Terrific scrap between Josh and Darren for second place in heat 11. Josh battles into second on the third lap only for Darren to snatch the place back on the second turn of the last lap. Josh winds it all on around the outside and takes the place back out of the last turn. Shame Ricky was on a tactical and sat watching all the action from last place! Another battle for the minor placings in heat 12 with Casper just getting the better of Paul on the third lap. Ricky gates to lead heat 13 but is picked off by Kevin on the third turn. Chris Schramm wants to join in the fun and goes for a big sweep on the final turn only to tumble off. The Stars gate ahead in heat 14 but Paul rounds Darren on the second lap and almost caught Kozza at the chequered flag. Josef is nominated as the Tigers top scorer and solitary heat winner. Richard has only fallen in half his races so far so gets the other ride. Josef and Kevin are neck and neck down the back straight but Josef eases ahead on the third turn to spoil Kevin's maximum and Richard stays on to shatter Linus' paid max hopes.

Not the start we wanted by far. Let's see what the crowd is like for Stoke tomorrow...
