2007 Programme The Tigers tracked Somerset's Jordan Frampton at number 6 guesting in place of James Birkinshaw, while the Stars sacked Benji Compton and called on Boston's Simon Lambert in his place. Sheffield carried forward a 31 point lead from the first leg although the Stars promoters were still confident and even suggested the Tigers fans needn't bother travelling to Norfolk as they wouldn't enjoy seeing their side humiliated! (Not many promoters can afford to turn fans away these days!!) The Stars made full use of owning their own stadium as they gave themselves two full days practice to ensure they all had exactly the right set up to suit the heavy track conditions and shows just what lengths they were prepared to go to.

Ricky Ashworth made a blistering start to heat 1 but struggled to turn the bike in the deep shale. Tomas Topinka took the lead on turn three but with Paul Lee falling at the back of the field the race was shared. King’s Lynn went ahead in heat 2 with Adam Allott and Simon Lambert taking a 5-1 ahead of Jordan Frampton. Daniel Nermark won heat 3 and Trevor Harding passed André Compton on the last lap. Chris Mills won heat 4 and Simon Lambert passed Joel Parsons for yet another 5-1. The Stars had taken 12 points out the Tigers lead after just four heats with the Tigers struggling to corner, let alone race, in the deep grippy conditions. Ricky and Ben Wilson trapped ahead in heat 5 but Daniel Nermark put Ben under intense pressure and forced him into a mistake at the end of lap three allowing both Stars riders through to share the heat. Tigers aggregate lead stand at 19 points.

Tomas Topinka was the easy winner of heat 6 but team mate Paul Lee was left standing at the gate with a dead engine. Adam Allott trapped to lead heat 7 but once André went past he lost interest and dropped quickly to the back of the field. Chris Mills managed to fight off all Paul Cooper's challenges for three laps but then fell on the last lap giving the Tigers their own 5-1 and igniting the visitors team spirit. Ben Wilson made his mark winning heat 8 resisting both Paul Lee and Adam Allott. Daniel Nermark and Trevor Harding won heat 9 from Joel Parsons with James Cockle falling at the back of the field, and although Tomas Topinka made it 3 wins in heat 10 both Paul and André made good use of Paul Lee's mistake to maintain the Tigers aggregate 19 point lead with just 5 races remaining.

Ricky was on a tactical in heat 11 and his second place behind Adam Allott virtually clinched the Tigers their place in the final. André beat Daniel Nermark in heat 12 and the Stars last glimmer of hope was extinguished with Jordan Frampton beating Simon Lambert into third place. Tomas made it four straight wins in heat 13 but Joel took second place ahead of Chris Mills. James Cockle was excluded from heat 14 when he fell. Paul Cooper trapped in the rerun but Trevor Harding passed him round the outside, and Tomas completed his maximum in heat 15 winning from Trevor ahead of Ricky and Coops.

Where was Jonathan Chapman while all the Sheffield fans were celebrating our place in the final? Nowhere to be seen...
