The Stars were sitting on a 10 point lead from the first leg and had just claimed their first away points in 2 years
with victory at Birmingham. Their No.1 Tobiasz Musielak was recovering from injury, Nikolai Klindt had crashed in Poland at the
weekend and Patryk Wojdylo was injured the previous night in Sweden.
Jack and Kyle got us off to a great start with Kyle passing the two guests on the first lap. Jason trapped from the inside
gate to win heat 2 but Dan was climbing all over Paco Castagna until he over did things on the last lap. Chris followed his
brothers lead by storming from the outside gate and taking the lead down the back straight to win heat 3. Tai had the same in mind
in heat 4 but young Anders Rowe had other ideas and rode high and wide to claim the visitors first win with new signing Jan Kvech
third for their first (and ultimately their only) heat advantage. Chris traps ahead in heat 5 but Zack off gate 2 tangles with Josh
who loses his steel shoe. Undeterred Josh chases after Richard Lawson and after a brilliant cutback off the last bend just beat
Richard to the line in a three man blanket finish. Tigers lead by 6 points on the night but trail by 4 on aggregate.
Heat 6 and Jack becomes the first winner off gate 2. Kyle powers high and wide around the first corners and passes Jan down the
back straight. The 5-1 levels the aggregate score. Tai wins heat 7 but Dan becomes another victim of gate 3 (2 points from seven
heats). Anders wins heat 8 with Kyle content to follow Dan home for a shred heat. Jan takes a flyer to win heat 9 from Josh and
Chris. Jack becomes the first to win from gate 3 in heat 10 but leaves Kyle to his own devices. Kyle rides a blinder to keep both
Puck and Benjamin at bay and put the Tigers ahead on aggregate for the first time.
Tai wins heat 11 from Richard and reserve replacement Anders. Anders is out again in heat 12 but Chris is the winner. Tai and Jack are
untroubled winning heat 13 which would require the Stars two 5-1's to force a super heat. Benjamin won heat 14 but Josh and Dan did
enough to book our place in the final. Chris won heat 15 but Josh struggled to get on terms with Jan and Puck but by then the job
was well and truly done. The Stars three guests managed just 6+1 from the 10 rides they took, but new signing Jan on his first visit
to Owlerton looked good, and young Anders was great value and top scorer.
Analysis of starting gate positions:
Gate 1 - 32(+3)pts 5 wins. Gate 2 - 27(+3)pts 6 wins. Gate 3 - 14(+4)pts 2 wins. Gate 4 - 17(+2)pts 2 wins.
