Tonight's guest

Craig Cook off gate 4 cut across Danny King into turn 1 and team rode Andre for 2 laps before extending a slight lead. He equalled the (his) fastest time of the season at Owlerton. Josh Bates made a good start and rode a tidy line on the way to his fastest win of the season in heat 2. Arthur Sissis went too wide on all four bends on the last lap but still held onto third place ahead of the Argentinean champion. Stefan Nielsen drifted Jason Garrity out on the second turn in heat 3 and Ashley Birks who was swooping high and wide had to virtually stop as the two of them blocked his path. Nico gated ahead in heat 4 and Ty Proctor could not make any impression with the inside line. Arthur was untroubled by a pedestrian looking Rohan Tungate. Ashley Birks made a perfectly legal flying start to heat 5 but the referee ruled "all four back". Ashley was slightly behind Ritchie Hawkins into the first bend in the restart but must have disrespected Peter Clarke at some time or other as he found himself inexplicably excluded! Danny got a flyer in the second restart but that was perfectly OK! Tigers four points ahead.

Craig was off and away into the lead in heat 6 but all eyes are on the terrific struggle for 2nd place. Andre and Stefan were duelling and caught Rohan on the second bend where they are briefly three abreast. Andre gives his all but Stefan has his measure. Terrific racing. Cameron Heeps and Nico lead away in heat 7 but Ty rounds his team mate on the pits turn and slices inside Nico out of turn two on the second lap. The Tigers lead away in heat 8 and Andre spends as much time looking back for his partner as he does where he is going and Nico never has a chance of splitting them. Jason leads heat 9 chased by Rohan. Ashley passes Stefan on the inside and Stefan goes wide looking to get the place back but runs out of track and is stopped dead by the fence. Andre wins heat 10 from Cameron with Craig outpacing Rohan to extend the Tigers lead to 12 points.

Heat 11 is make or break time for the Witches and Phil Hilton brings Nico in for Ritchie and gives Danny the tactical ride. Jack switches Arthur in for Josh but the Witches do their magic to claim a big 1-8! Cameron and Nico lead heat 12 and look like moving to just one point behind when Cameron hits the fence on the apex of the first two turns. Ty leads into turn one in heat 13 and goes wide for the drive resulting in him being last down the back straight. Craig rides high and wide and a few lengths clear of Danny while after a terrific struggle Ty gets the better of Rohan for another heat win. Jason gates off heat 4 and hits the white line on the first bend in the lead. Nico moves from last to second on the first lap and Cameron and Josh battle all the way to the tapes with the  24 year-old Aussie taking the point. Craig and Andre are nominated to meet Danny and Rohan(?) in heat 15 but it is a four lap procession as they scrape the fence well spaced out.

Thanks again to guest Craig Cook who took four wins. Andre and Jason excellent value with two wins apiece and a better showing from Josh with one win to his name. Paid six from four rides is what is expected of Arthur but Ty and Ashley's returns are not going to enable us to win anything. Ty seemed down on power as he lost ground even when going wide, and Ashley needs to start believing in himself again. Come on Jack!
