Programme image Sheffield were back at full strength and looking for their first win in five matches. Ipswich had been struggling but were led by England World Cup member Danny King and included ex-Tiger Nico Covatti. Simon won heat 1 from Danny who pushed hard for two laps before picking up a puncture. Joe Jacobs won heat 2. Nathan held team mate Arthur in check for two laps and although he made a super-human effort off the last turn Arthur was just pipped by a tyres width. Jason made an electric start to heat 3 but Dmitri was well off the pace at the back of the field. Nathan popped out to lead heat 4 and Kyle passed Ben Barker on the third turn and attempted to team ride Nathan home. Kyle then had some machine problem and was passed by Ben who left it to the last lap before powering around Nathan. Jason trapped to lead heat 5 and shut the door on Dnny King at the end of the first lap and second guessed him all the way to the flag. Dmitri retired from the back of the field leaving the Tigers with a slendertwo point lead.

Josh and Simon trapped to win heat 6 with ease from Ben Barker who passed team mate Joe on the last lap. Nico won heat 7 from Kyle but Arthur trailed home last. Josh was slowly away in heat 8 but closed in on Joe and snatched second place on the run to the flag. Nathan never looked like making up any ground. Jason and Dmitri trapped to win heat 9 easily from Ben. Josh lead heat 10 and Simon rounded Morten at the end of lap 1. Nico dived under Josh to take the lead at the start of lap 3 for another shared heat leaving the Tigers six points ahead.

The Witches pair led heat 11 with Kyle retiring with a blown engine on the second lap. Arthur chased well and was within striking distance by the flag, but James held on for the Witches maximum heat win. Joe led heat 12 until Dmitri went around him on the third bend. Our apology for a team manager missed another chance and Nathan trailed home last again. Danny led heat 13 from the tapes but everyone was watching Kyle and Ben at the back of the field. After three laps of blocking Ben's outside runs Kyle went for the white line at the start of the last lap and we all groaned as Ben went sailing past. Jason was pulled back for making an electric start to heat 14, but did enough in the restart to take the lead. Arthur was again chasing hard and lost out in yet another photo finish! Dead level into the last heat decider and it's Jason and Simon against Danny and Nico. Jason leads the way with Simon second in mid-track with Danny inside him and Nico outside. The slow motion replay shows Simon picking up extra drive and skittling Nico off which gained him a disqualification. (Well spotted referee!) Jason makes no mistake in the rerun and thwarts Danny's every move, possibly the race of the match.
