My man of the match Jason Edwards missed the match with a fractured cheekbone sustained riding for Redcar at the weekend. Ipswich, who hadn't won at Owlerton since 2014, called up Ryan Douglas as guest for Danny King. Jack made the most of gate 4 to lead from gate to chequered flag. Kyle couldn't make any ground on Dan Thompson but easily kept Emil Sayfutdinov at bay. Dan Gilkes struggled from gate 3 and finished yards behind the Ipswich reserves in heat 2. Chris rounded Adam Ellis out of turn 2 to lead heat 3. Josh lifted down the back straight on the second lap allowing Ryan Douglas into third place but fought back and re-took the position out of turn 2 on the third lap. Tai was untroubled in heat 4 but Jason Doyle had to catch DanG before passing him at the end of the second lap. Chris started well in heat 5 but Emil was much faster this time out. Josh struggled off gate 3 and them found DanT quite capable of defending his position. Scores level despite four Tigers heat winners to 1 from the Witches!

Jason took a flyer and rode high and wide to beat Jack in heat 6. Tai won heat 7 from tapes to flag riding literally inches from the bouncy castle. Kyle was slow off gate 3 in heat 8 and never looked like catching Jordan. DanT passed DanG on the inside exiting turn 2 on the first lap and the Witches take the lead again. Chris got a flyer from gate 3 to lead heat 9 while Keynan Rew and Josh had an epic battle for second place. Josh eventually made the inside line work while Jason trailed home last. Adam rounded everyone from gate 4 to lead heat 10. Ryan Picks off Kyle out of turn 4 on the third lap and then Jack forces his way into the lead out of turn 2 on the last lap. Tigers lead by a slender 2 points.

Emil and DanT trapped in heat 11 but Tai swooped into second place, turn 2 on the second lap. Keynan led heat 12 from Chris who tried inside and out but couldn't get past. Adam rounded DanG on the third turn to put the Witches into the lead again. Big guns met in heat 13 and after a false start it was Tai off unfancied gate 3 who leads the way. Jason and Emil shared the points with Jack a very uncharacteristic last. Heat 14 and DanG replaces Luke, but Keynan likewise takes Jordan's place. Josh rounds the field and leads into turn 3 from Ryan and DanG. Keynan goes wide at the start of lap 2 but switches back passing DanG on the inside out of turn 2. The Tigers need a 5-1 in heat 15 to win. A 4-2 would force a super heat. Chris is off gate 2 with Tai on the outside for the home team. Tai rides high and wide to win but Chris cannot make any ground and the Witches spearhead takes the 3 points required to make them winners.

Analysis of starting gate positions:
Gate 1 - 27(+3)pts 5 wins. Gate 2 - 16(+4)pts 1 wins. Gate 3 - 17(+1)pts 3 wins. Gate 4 - 30(+2)pts 6 wins.
