© Class Trend Ltd. Ben and Ricky sped into an early lead and Emil Kramer could do nothing to catch them. Fast starting Joel Parsons led heat 2, but only as far as the pits bend as that was where Tai Woffinden swooped around him. Paul Thorp demonstrated his phenomenal gating to lead heat 3 with Kyle snapping at his heels all the way to the line. Emil Kramer was never troubled by Emiliano on his way to third place. André and Tai took another maximum heat win in heat 4 leaving Birko and Speighty trailing in their wake. Thorpy swooped into the lead out of turn two and easily outpaced Emiliano and Kyle in heat 5 and the Tigers have a six point lead.

Ricky and Ben took another big win in heat 6 ahead of Joel with Birko experiencing machine trouble. Thorpy was on a tactical in heat 7 and anticipated the start again but the peak of his helmet broke the bottom tape and earned him a 15 metre handicap. André led away with Cooperman passing Emil on the pits bend to move into second place, but it was only a matter of time before Thorpy caught him and he flashed past on the second turn of lap three. Robbie Kessler got his act together in heat 8 but Ben breezed past on the first lap to remain unbeaten by a Viking. Kyle and Emiliano claimed a 5-1 ahead of Joel in heat 9 with Birko again pulling up with more engine problems. Even Thorpy couldn't live with the Tigers best pair as Ricky and Ben took another 5-1 in heat 10 extending their lead to 22 points.

Herr Flick made a lightning start to lead heat 11 but André almost wiped Cooperman out on the first turn as he went for the outside blast. André passed Joel on the pits turn to move into second place, but inexplicably let Joel back into second place on the third lap. Joel was wearing the black & white in heat 12 and he and Thorpy sped to the front. Tai tried unsuccessfully to split them for a couple of laps before Emiliano took up the gauntlet, but the Vikings pair took a massive 8-1 in the closest four man blanket race I've seen for quite a few years at Owlerton. Ricky and André got the engine back on the rails with a comfortable maximum in heat 13. Kyle sped into the lead in heat 14 but all eyes were watching the battle for second place. Cooperman took Emil on the outside at the start of the second lap, but Joel passed the pair of them with a tidy inside line. Paul kept it all screwed on and repassed Joel entering turn 3 to silence his critics. Ben and Ricky finished as they started with another 5-1 with Thorpy missing out on the nominated heat as he's stewed his engine.

Not much of a match but the Vikings fans certainly appreciated seeing their colours back on the track. Let's hope they are successful in their quest for a new stadium.
