2008 Programme  The track looked good despite the Banger car meeting earlier in the week, but it seems that thanks were due to volunteers who walked the track on two evenings picking up stones and bits of cars! Ross Brady took a rider replacement ride in heat 1 and flew from the tapes into an early lead. Joel Parsons drew alongside on the exit from turn two and Ricky Ashworth followed suit on the fourth turn. Trent Leverington fell at the back of the field on the second turn of the third lap but quickly remounted. Paul Cooper and Sam Martin trapped ahead in heat 2 and never looked like being caught by Mitchell Davey while Ross Brady retired from the back of the field. Tomas Topinka was the early leader of heat 3 but André Compton squeezed through the narrowest of gaps to take the lead out wide on the third turn. Ross Brady pulled out of the meeting citing a long standing knee injury (has he never heard of knee braces?) and his place in heat 4 was taken by Mitchell Davey who leapt into an early lead, but both Ben Wilson and Paul had passed him by the second turn. Borrowed No.8 Ben Hopwood was the rider replacement in heat 5 but André and Lee took an untroubled maximum ahead of Trent. Five races gone and the Tigers lead by eighteen points.

Robert Ksiezak was the early leader of heat 6 but Joel dived past on the inside of the third turn. Joel was carrying too much speed and nearly hit the fence on turn four which allowed both Ricky and Robert through and it was good to see Joel apologising on the run-down lap. Tomas was on a tactical in heat 7 but Ben Wilson made a beautiful start and was never troubled. Joel and Paul won heat 8 at a canter after Robert fell trying an impossibly wide pass on the third turn. Robert was back out in heat 9 but couldn't match the pace of the home pair. Joel and Ricky got the drop on Tomas to take another maximum from heat 10 leaving the Tigers thirty points ahead.

Ben Wilson trapped again to lead heat 11 from Trent while Ben Hopwood passed Sam Martin on the second lap to share the heat. André made no mistake winning heat 12 while Paul harried Tomas all the way to the flag without ever looking like getting past. Ricky flew into the lead in heat 13 but previously unbeaten Ben gated last and stayed there. Lee trapped from the outside gate and was on the white line by the first turn on his way to winning heat 14 while Sam Martin picked up a gift point when Mitchell Davey took a tumble into the fence on the last bend of the second lap. Eric nominates Joel and Paul for heat 15 while Stewart goes with Tomas and Robert. Tomas makes a blinding start to record the visitors first race win while the home pair take the remaining points.

The lowest crowd of the season weren't put off by the weather and the thirty four point home win certainly wasn't a good advert. Workington should prove a bigger test next week...
