Top scorer Sheffield were on the receiving end of a 28 point drubbing when they ventured north for the league encounter. Glasgow had a field day rattling up 60 points on that occasion, so now given an 8 point defecit from the first leg there was little optimism from the Sheffield supporters for our chances of making it to the final. Still, the same had been said for our chances against Newcastle in the quarter final, and here we were.

Richie Worrall (off gate 4) takes Josh (gate 1) very wide on the first 2 turns of heat of heat 1 and Nike Lunna powers under Stuart Robson out of turn 2 to get Glasgow off to the perfect start. Nathan was left trailing right from the start of heat 2 but Arthurn gets the better run out of the second turn and passes Danny Ayers into turn three to take the lead. Coty Garcia couldn't pass Danny but is untroubed by Nathan. Aaron Summers and Rene Bach gate ahead of guest Cameron Heeps to win heat 3 and Josh only picks op a point when Cameron falls on the last lap. Sheffield's aggregate lead has gone already! Kyle traps ahead in heat 4 but Richard Lawson passes him out of turn two and Danny puts Glasgow ahead on aggregate by finishing ahead of Nathan. Josh and Stuart lead away in heat 5 although Aaron is hot on their heels and passes Stuart with a cracking outside move on the last lap. Glasgow lead by eight on the night while the aggregate scores are tied.

Kyle was first away in heat 6 but made a mess of the first turn and ended up last. He fought past Nike on the second lap but Nike kept up the pressure and regained third place on the last lap, only to fall on the third bend! Richard ledall the way in heat 7 but Coty fell on the second turn while trying to pass Cameron. Arthur takes Nathan's place in heat 8 and makes the perfect start alongside Josh and suddenly Glasgow realize that it isn't going their way. Nathan takes his third ride in heat 9 but Kyle is left stranded at the start gate allowing Aaron and Rene to negate the heat 8 result and restore equilibrium. Richie heads Kyle in heat 10 and Arthur passes Nike on the inside of the fourth turn and the scores remsain Glasgow ahead by eight on the night and dead level on aggregate.

Richard gates to win heat 11 but Josh and Stuart are not roubled by Coty who loses ground each lap. Aaron traps ahead in heat 12 but Danny falls on the first turn and Michael Breckon judges him to be at fault. Glasgow on a 5-1 in heat 13 but Kyle passes Richie to go second on lap 2. Stuart is pushing Richie but then Richard slows on the last lap and Richie falls trying to avoid him gifting Sheffield a 5-1 at a critical time. Two heats remaining and Glasgow now need a 5-1 and a 4-2 to qualify for the final! Rene leads away in heat 14 but Coty tries to pass Arthur on the fourth turn but takes a heavy tumble into the fence on the fourth turn. Coty leaves in an ambulance with a leg injury and fence repairs commence. Rene then hunts Arthur down in the rerun and is rewarded by taking the lead on the second turn on the last lap. Glasgow now need a 5-1 to take the match to Golden heats but although Aaron traps Kyle pulls clear of Richard into the third turn. Aaron tries his best to slow the race up but Richard is never close enough to challenge and Kyle gets the vital points to put Sheffield into the final!
