Having already lost at both Arena Essex and Wolverhampton the Lions were desperate to
save face with a win in the last test. Injured Greg Hancock was unavailable for this rescheduled
match, but the Lions were without Peter Carr, Martin Dugard and Kelvin Tatum, and then further
handicapped by the last minute withdrawal of Mark Loram.
With two races outstanding the visitors held a slender two point lead. John Cook earned himself an exclusion under the 2 minutes rule and Gary Havelock led from the tapes. Sean Wilson attempted to dive under Billy Hamill into the third turn but made contact causing Billy to fall. In the last heat Josh Larsen suffered an engine failure but Shawn Moran, with just one point currently on his score chart, left Simon Cross and Joe Screen trailing as he made the test series a whitewash for the Americans.
