The Aces fell to their first defeat at their new track. After wins against Wolverhampton and Bradford the Moran brothers proved to be too much to handle and decent returns from the Prawn, reserve Ian Stead and guest Martin Dugard were sufficient to trump the Aces.

The Aces American Mike Faria took little time to settle into British speedway having scored paid 10 in the Aces win at Owlerton and then paid 14 at home to the Tudors five days previously. He lowered Neil Evitts track record in heat 2, finished second to Martin Dugard who beat his track record in heat 3 and then claimed it back as he outpaced Kelly Moran in heat 4 on his way to a magnificent paid 17 but it wasn't enough to tame the Tigers.
