The Tigers struggled in the dusty conditions but managed to keep in contention until the Brummies banged in successive 5-1's in heats 12 and 13. Eric responded with a tactical ride but surprised everyone by nominating Chris Mills rather than fellow reserve Josh Auty who had been going very well. It all went wrong for the Brummies when Ksiezak's bike stopped on the second lap and Sweetman fell trying to avoid him. The ref didn't see it that way and disqualified Richard for falling and Robert for not being under power! The 8-0 put the Tigers back into the equation for a last heat decider but Jason completed his maximum and Tomas passed Ricky for a maximum heat win. The ridiculous tactical ride gave the Tigers a match point they frankly didn't deserve.
