best meeting of the year for... programme Garcia is called back for a jump start and then clips Castagna's rear wheel in the restart. At the third attempt Cook cuts across from gate 4 to lead into the first bend. Jorgensen passes Garcia on the back straight but makes no impression on the leader who shaves half a second off Sebastian Alden's track record. Bates and Carr (deputizing for Richard Hall who is away at a long-track meeting) clash exiting turn 2 in heat 2 and Darren Hartley excludes Josh. Half an hour later there are just two riders in the rerun as Liam receives medical treatment. Edberg hits trouble on the first turn and Sissis takes the lead exiting turn 2 with Alex nursing a sick motor home for the two available points. Jorgensen takes the replacement ride in heat 3. Klindt on gate 4 moves before the tapes and is rolling backwards when they go up. The Bandits make full use of the situation to take their first maximum heat win. Garrity leads heat 4 from Edberg with Doolan and Sissis neck to neck down the back straight. Kevin is braver into turn three and indeed rounds Alex before they reach the finish line. Cook and Castagna trap ahead in heat 5 and neither Garcia nor Thornblom can catch Paco as the Tigers regain the lead, albeit by just the one point.

Garrity becomes the first winner of the night from gate 2 as he out paces Jorgensen into the first turn of heat 6. Bates off gate 4 joins his team mate exiting the second bend but Thomas dives under him into turn 3. Doolan and Edberg make an easy job taking a maximum win ahead of ex-Bandit Bellego and a pathetic display by Klindt in heat 7. Sissis and Castagna lead the way in heat 8 with Edberg struggling and getting passed on the last lap but Garcia not troubling the Tigers. Garrity traps ahead in heat 9 but loses the back wheel on the third turn. Doolan has nowhere to go and ploughs into Jason and Thornblom attempts to avoid the mayhem but ends up somersaulting into the turn 4 safety fence. Jason is excluded and Mathias is unable to make the rerun. Reserve Edberg leads from Doolan with Bates trailing although Kevin takes over the lead around the second turn on the second lap. One and three-quarter hours for the first 9 races and the 21:30 curfew is fast approaching. Jorgensen and Sissis (replacing out of touch Klindt) are the first to show in heat 10 and with Garcia third ahead of Bellego the Bandits extend a three point lead.

Three riders only in heat 11 and Doolan gates ahead but Cook keeps a tight line and passes him out of turn two. Edberg in for Thornblom is the only Bandit in heat 12 and despite making the gate is rounded by Sissis out of turn two. Bates' point for third puts the Tigers ahead for the fourth time in the match! Bates is out again in heat 13 as Garrity has now been withdrawn and Jorgensen wins the race to the first bend. Doolan makes a tremendous move to swoop around Cook on the last two bends and claim a fantastic 5-1 with two races and just minutes remaining. Bandits No.8 Keiron Douglas and Alex Edberg are pitched against Arthur Sissis and pointless Nikolai Klindt in heat 14 and would you believe it is Nikolai who traps ahead. The Tigers take the lead for the fifth time and with choice of gate positions in the nominated race just three minutes away. Arthur Sissis takes his seventh outing in white, Thomas Jorgensen is in red off gate 2, Craig Cook is yellow off gate 3 and Kevin Doolan is in blue off gate 4. Thomas is half a bike ahead but as he dives for the line on the first turn his chain goes and Arthur has no chance of avoiding him. With Arthur picking up a suspected broken collar bone and Thomas excluded the curfew passed and the match was declared as a Sheffield win.
