Ricky Ashworth and Josef Franc tangle on the first bend with Ricky taking a purler, but thankfully he's able to make the restart. The Bandits lead away from the tapes but Ricky passes the new German signing Frankie Facher on the back straight, and Chris Mills is gifted a point when the German's bike splutters to a halt on the last lap. Tero Aarnio wins heat 2 by half a lap but the Tigers outpace guest Luke Priest to keep the scores level. In heat 3 Joel locks up on the first bend of lap two and skittles off both Paul Clews and Chris Mills in a nasty looking crash. He leaves the track in the ambulance wearing a neck brace, and Paul receives medical attention for a hand injury, but is able to follow his partner home for the first of the Bandits maximum heat wins in the rerun. Michal Makovsky and Tero take another maximum in heat 4. Joel thankfully returns to the track in heat 5 as rider replacement but trails in last while Ricky is able to split the Bandits and keep Paul at bay to limit the damage to two points. The Tigers are ten points behind.

Frankie blasts into the lead out of turn two in heat 6 and Josef slots in behind for a comfortable maximum heat win. Michal traps to win heat 7 but Luke trails home behind the Tigers. Ricky is on a tactical in heat 8 but the Bandits gate and despite Tero hitting the fence exiting the second turn they take another maximum, and Paul rounds the field to win heat 9 for yet another. Frankie slows dramatically in heat 10 leaving Joel nowhere to go and they collect Chris in a three way collision, For some inexplicable reason Christina (disqualifies) excludes Joel?  Not his night is it!

Josh is on a tactical in heat 11 and he was guaranteed points when Luke stalled on the start line. Ricky spent three and three quarter laps chasing Michal before virtually stopping on the pits turn to let Josh steal the Judas points. (In my opinion this must be the worst rule Speedway has ever invented!) Tero gave Joel the big heave-ho on the first turn of heat 12 and Joel was unable to reciprocate after suffering a puncture. The Bandits lost out on another maximum in heat 13 when Josef's bike ef'd on the second lap. After some terrifying bends Tero forced his way past Scud at the end of the second lap of heat 14 with Stanislaw blasting into second at the end of the third lap for another home maximum. Ricky and Josh were our nominations for heat 15 but, as usual, they managed to haemorrhage another four points.

We were on schedule to win our first encounter at Shielfield Park until we ran out of time. We drew the rematch, and have now demonstrated our credentials for the play-offs with another dramatic capitulation in the closing stages.
