Joe Haines makes an electric start to heat 1 and Simon Stead won the battle of elbows to join him in an impressive
5-1. Damien Koppe is the first to show in heat 2 and holds off Paul Starke but Jake Knight trails home last. Robin
Aspegren wins heat 3 from the gate. Kossa Smith twitches and Tony Steele brings all 4 back. Damien traps in the rerun
but Nicki Barrett powers around him out of turn 2. Facundo Albin dives past Kossa out of turn 2 to go 3rd. Kossa
gives him a mighty wallop on the third turn, lap 2 but Facundo holds on and pulls clear. Ricky Wells traps ahead to
win heat 5 but Ed Kennett passes Richard Hall on the inside on lap 2. Sheffield lead by 6 points.
Kossa makes a perfect start to lead heat 6 but Tony calls for all-4-back. He is mugged by Joe and Simon in the
restart and then drops it into the fence on the third turn. After a track inspection and a delay while the sun
goes down the Tigers take another 5-1. Robin is on a tactical in heat 7 but Damien flies from gate 4 into the lead.
Matthew tries to let Robin through at the end of the second lap but only baulks his team mate and Facundo almost
passed the pair of them. Joe goes high and wide and takes the lead exiting turn 2 in heat 8. Nicki passes David Bellego
on the fourth bend but then suffers engine problems. Richard goes high and wide to pass Kossa exiting turn two in heat 9
for his first win of the night. Joe makes another electric start to lead heat 10 but Simon goes so wide looking for
drive he literally bounces off the fence and loses second place. Another outside blast sees him pass Matthew on the
pits turn. Matthew in turn looks for the outside blast around turns 1&2 but gets badly out of shape and is lucky to
stay onboard. Tigers lead now stands at 16 points.
Ed Kennett is wearing the black & white and leads heat 11. Facundo sees David making ground out of turn 2 and deliberately
turns right to baulk him. David plugs away and catches Damien at the end of lap three but cannot pull clear and Damien
goes high and wide around bend two to reclaim third place. Ricky trapped and looked for the high line in heat 12 leaving
Robin nowhere to go. Simon trapped to win heat 13 but Facundo trails the field and then plants his bike in the fence on
the last lap. Damien leads heat 14 from Matthew and Richard takes third on the inside of the second bend. Matthew
goes high and wide into the lead on the pits turn but Damien draws level out of turn two and regains the lead at
the end of lap 2 just as Richard in third loses it and ends up in the fence. Damien looks for the outside line in the rerun
but Matthew finds better drive on the inside and takes the win. Ed wins heat 15 from Ricky and Robin and Richard is
trailing before trying too hard and testing the fence on the last lap.
